Care

Footprints shoes are made from the highest quality leathers and water proofing and moisturising the leather is a must! By keeping the leather nourished you can be sure your shoes will keep their appearance and accompany you for a very long time.

Smooth Waxy Leather
Clean the smooth leather with a soft dry cloth and perhaps a small amount of leather cream. Treat waxy leather the same although use a special common commercial waxy leather cream.

Nubuck Leather
Nubuck has a soft velvet like appearance. To maintain the appearance the leather should be cleaned occasionally with a nubuck brush and nubuck spray. If they get wet, let them dry slowly and then use your nubuck brush so that the leather does not get hard.

Suede Leather
If it is very dirty, it is no problem to wash suede leather with clear water. Then let it dry slowly in order to keep from drying out. In order to retain the suede effect, rough it then with a crepe or brass-wire brush and apply suede leather spray.

Footprints shoes and boots feature sole units which may be stitched or molded to the upper.
Heels and soles on these shoes must be repaired when the tread pattern is worn. Wearing your shoes beyond this point may result in the sole unit cracking at which point the shoe may be beyond repair.

Please note: In some cases where the upper is still in a very good condition entire sole units may be replaceable.

When purchasing Footprints styles which have leather soles such as Kensington please remember to apply a Topy protective sole within a few weeks of wearing them to protect the exposed stitching.

Extra Tips from the Staff!

  • Footprints shoes should be worn in slowly, just like your Birkenstock Sandals, try to wear them for shorter periods of time at the beginning until your feet get used to all the great support!
  • To prevent odor always wear cotton socks and alternate which shoes you wear each day!
  • You can utilize the removable footbeds by taking them out and airing them regularly!
